United Way of Marion County understands the importance of ongoing organizational excellence and accountability. The administrative and fundraising costs of operating United Way are approximately 15 percent, meaning that 85 percent of all contributions go to fund health and human services and community solutions. We do not charge partner programs any membership fees in order to receive funding through the annual campaign managed by this organization.

Donor Privacy Policy

United Way values the trust its donors place in the organization and adheres'S to the highest standards in gathering, using, and safeguarding donor information. This includes all of the donor's personal and gift information.

The information we collect
When you choose to give to United Way of Marion County, you complete a pledge form that asks you to provide us with your name, address, e-mail address, and pledge information.
 
United Way of Marion County will not rent, trade, sell, or share any information about its donors.
 
Access to information
United Way employees who may access your information to perform pledge processing and administrative functions are prohibited from disclosing your information to third parties. Names printed in United Way recognition materials are a matter of public record. If you do not want your name to appear, please indicate your gift as anonymous.
 
Organizations that provide operational or other support services to us must also agree to safeguard your information in strict compliance with our privacy policy.
 
Why do we collect this information?
Your relationship with United Way is voluntary and confidential. We use your information to send you acknowledgement of your gift and information we think you may find of interest about United Way. If you do not wish to receive such communications, you may let us know at any time by contacting United Way of Marion County.
 
Our commitment to data security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have established procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Firewalls prevent outside parties from accessing our database, and internal United Way access to the database is restricted to authorized individuals.
